An XSLT transformation which creates a HTML preview of a TMX file

Your client sends you a TMX file to use. You want to have a look at its contents. You can:

View it in a text editor, with all the tags which obliterate the text contents;
load it into a tool like Okapi Olifant (a freee, open source tool) or Stingray (a commercial, proprietary tool) to get a tabular view of TMX file;
use the XSLT transformation presented below, which will create a copy of your TMX file in HTML format, which you can display in any web browser.

Here is the code of the XSLT transformation and an explanation how to use it follows:

To use the XSLT transformation you need to save it as a file with the xsl extension. For your convenience, you can download the file here.

You will also need a piece of software called an XSLT processor. There are a number of XSLT processor available, such as:

msxsl, you will also need msxml, available as a free download from Microsoft;
AltovaXML, available as a free download from www.altova.com;
Saxon, a cross platform XSLT, processor, which comes as a .NET version or a Java version;
on any operating system an XSLT transformation can also be performed with Rainbow from okapi.opentag.com, this is a cross platform localization toolbox, which needs Java to run. It offers a convenient dialog box for running a transformation.
